(HAV). It is usually transmitted by the fecal-oral route, either through person to person
contact or consumption of contaminated food or water. Hepatitis A is preventable.

]]>Don Stap is the author of two books of natural history prose—Birdsong and A Parrot Without a Name—and a collection of poems, Letter at the End of Winter.
He was awarded a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in poetry, and two Individual Artist grants from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. and his poems have appeared in Poetry, TriQuarterly, Northwest Review, The Massachusetts Review, The American Scholar, Alaska Quarterly Review, Quarterly West and elsewhere.
A frequent contributor to Audubon magazine, he has written as well for such publications as Smithsonian,National Wildlife, Orion, The North American Review, and the New York Times. One of his essays was selected for The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2010.
For A Parrot Without a Name he accompanied scientists on a three month expedition into an unexplored region of Peru. A Parrot Without a Name was widely and favorably reviewed, including a front-page review from the New York Review of Books by George Plimpton. For Birdsong, which Publishers Weekly calls “a lucidly written combination of scientific lore and vivid reportage,” Stap was interviewed by Terry Gross on her National Public Radio program Fresh Air.
A native of Michigan, he has taught at the University of Central Florida since 1985.

This symposium considers Muslim scholarly traditions not often discussed but with lasting impact: Specifically, a lineage of piety and learning in South Asia, with connections to the great Sufi ethicist of Herat, ʿAbdallāh Anṣārī. Systems of learning promoted proper conduct, good intention, meticulous study, and just administration to an eager Muslim audience.
Francis Robinson is Professor of the History of South Asia at Royal Holloway, University of London. Dr. Robinson has published widely on Islam in South Asia. His most recent book is Jamal Mian: the Life of Maulana Jamaluddin Abdul Wahab of Farangi Mahall.
Cyrus Ali Zargar is the Al-Ghazali Distinguished Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Zargar has published on medieval Sufi literature and ethics. His most recent book is The Polished Mirror: Storytelling and the Pursuit of Virtue in Islamic Philosophy and Sufism.
Presented by the Al-Ghazali Islamic Studies Program at the University of Central Florida. Attendance is free.

Founded in 2017, the UCF New Music Ensemble is a performance-oriented chamber group focused on diverse repertoire from the 20th and 21st-centuries. The ensemble is used as a laboratory for instruction in chamber performance skills encompassing the various styles of conventionally notated works but will also introduce other contemporary approaches such as improvisation, electro-acoustic music and graphic scores. The ensemble frequently rehearses and premieres newly composed works by resident students, faculty and visiting guest composers.
Free and open to the public, no ticket required.
