Teaching for Confluency K-12 - AFTER Hours, 2013 Active Forward Thinking Educators Reflecting

Wednesday, December 18, 2013 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
After Hours is designed as interactive, engaging sessions for educators interested in improving their understanding of literacy, hosted by Morgridge International Reading Center. Held monthly after school hours, educators have the opportunity to enhance existing skill sets for immediate impact in the classroom environment. The Fall 2013 After Hours series provides educators with:

  • An understanding of literacy learning as a process;

  • Assistance in determining text placement for students in an appropriate text complexity grade band;

  • Understanding how to turn the language of the Common Core State Standards into explicit learning prompts to meet the needs of students in the classroom;

  • The ability to expand on examining text quantitatively and qualitatively;

  • A review of the role of text complexity in an integrated model of literacy instruction across content areas; and more.

Each After Hours session is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Register to secure your space today! Read More
