Greetings UCF Knights! In honor of Black History month, the Multicultural Student Center is proud to bring you the third annual “Great Debaters” event. The Great Debaters is an opportunity for six UCF knights to pair up in teams of three to research and debate on prominent issues in front of three judges. Participants will have to be able to support or oppose the topics given to them. The audience will also have the opportunity to directly question the participants for a brief period. Three rounds of captivating speeches sprinkled with information from different viewpoints. If you are a critical thinker, then this is an event you will not want to miss!
The Great Debaters will be held on Thursday, February 27, at 6:00 PM in the Student Union room 223. The debate will cover three topics: Health Care Reform, the Death Penalty, Voters Registration Laws. The debate consists of three rounds. During each round, one delegate from each team will debate on the topic given to them for a period of 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
If you are interested in participating in the Great Debaters event, please email your resume to mscasd@ucf.edu or you can visit the Multicultural Student Center in the Student Union room 153 to hand in a physical copy no later than Friday February 13, 6:00 PM . There will be prizes for those who participate.
