This introduction to Adobe Photoshop will show you step-by-step the basic tasks of operating the layers panel and its effects. Very beginner level, no knowledge of Photoshop necessary. Class is held in Technology Commons 1 Room 102C (TC1-102c). Bring your own computer with Photoshop installed, version CS4 or higher. Craig Bolz, founder of the alcohol delivery service Klink, is a recent graduate of UCF and will be at UCF to share how he grew his business and raised $200,000 to expand across the nation. This presentation is geared towards students who want to learn how to effectively build their business while in school and transition directly into being an executive of their own company. -- Though all students are welcome seating is limited to the first 40. Students are encouraged to show up early to ensure they receive a seat. This free event is hosted by the Blackstone LaunchPad located on the first floor of the student union. The Blackstone LaunchPad is UCF's official startup center providing free coaching, resources and events for students.

Weight Watchers Approach Yields Greater Weight Loss than Self-help Approach. Internet-based information, free or inexpensive mobile apps, and social media have made it appealing to many people to attempt weight loss on their own. However, research findings from a Baylor College of Medicine study in The American Journal of Medicine, found that a community-based weight loss intervention, specifically Weight Watcher, is more effective than a self-help approach. Join the weekly meeting at UCF every Tuesday in the Human Resources Department, Innovative Center, 3280 Progress Drive, Suite 100. Weigh in begins at 5:15pm and meeting are 5:45pm to 6:15pm. At meetings, you’ll find out all the latest information on eating right and living healthy. You’ll get the guidance you need to succeed and stay on track. With a convenient location at UCF/HR and pricing that fits your budget, now might be a good time to check out the meetings.

UCF Intramural Sports wants to kick off the year in the right way! This is your opportunity to participate in Pirateship Siege. In this one day tournament teams of 3 will man a canoe in the RWC lap pool with only a 2 buckets and small paddle board in an attempt to sink the other vessels. Teams will play in different heats for tournament seeding. Once team seeds are determined teams will participate in a single elimination bracket to crown our 2014 Pirateship Siege winners. Registration Deadline - Tuesday September 2nd, 2014. 6pm Play Date - Tuesday September 6th, 2014.

UCF Intramural Sports wants to kick off the year in the right way! Our Human Curling event is our version of curling! We use innertubes as our "stones" and have two participants launch a teammate down the lane. The lane is made of a huge tarp with water and soap! Who wouldn't want to participate in this event? Teams will have 3 throws to put up the highest scores. From this we will find the teams that have the top scores to face off for the championship! Good luck! "Meet The Greeks" is the main recruitment event for the Diversified Greek Council. The Diversified Greek Council is home to ten different multicultural Greek letter organizations. This event serves as an opportunity for students to witness some of the traditions of our organizations like stepping, strolling, and saluting as well as learn some facts about each organization on the council. While at the event each student will also have a chance to meet a large assortment of DGC members so that they can get a feel for which organization they feel they would best fit into.
