UCF Alumni: UCF College of Medicine MedTalk

The UCF College of Medicine and UCF Alumni Association invite you to their inaugural UCF MedTalk. Stephen Lambert, Ph.D., will be discussing “The Cannibal and the Railway Worker’s Wife: Why your brain gets sick.” Learn from this leading scientist in brain function about how our brains get sick and what we can do to maintain brain health, and what works and doesn’t work with some of the most debilitating diseases we face as a society of people living longer than ever before.

What is UCF MedTalk?Whether you’re a College of Medicine grad, or just a curious Knight who enjoys learning more about current and innovative issues in medicine, all are encouraged to join this unique conversation! This special series of informal talks includes a casual meeting place, plain language and comfortable atmosphere for everyone. Each researcher or physician will give a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A session. 
About the Speaker
Dr. Lambert’s research is in the area of glial cell biology and myelination. He’s received grants from both the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. He’s currently involved in teaching biochemistry and cell biology in the HB1 module – Human Body: Molecules to Cells, and in the S6 Brain and Behavior module at the College of Medicine.
