M&S Seminar Series: Pushing Realism in Real-Time Simulation

Presentation Overview:
As current generation technology improves, the graphical capability of real time simulation in video games increases. In the market, consumers have increasingly high expectations for quality graphics and immersive experiences. At EA Sports, we do our best to translate the experience of playing the game into our digital products, pushing the boundaries of delivering an as near to real life experience as possible. We use a large selection of high fidelity rendering techniques and cutting edge workflows to help us achieve this. This presentation will cover an overview of some of the many techniques and workflows that we use to deliver fidelity graphics that push the boundaries of industry standards in sports gaming.

Speaker Biography:
A Central Florida native, Mary Denman received her bachelor’s degree in Digital Media at UCF, and a Master of Science degree at UCF’s Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy program. During grad school, she fell in to her specialization of Technical Artist. She was hired by EA sports as a T.A., and have since shipped over 6 AAA titles. She also spent three years with the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy partnering to teach Technical Art to the new classes of students.
