Inviting and Inspiring Men to Learn

Tuesday, December 1, 2015 12:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The number of male students enrolling in and graduating from college has been on a decline for more than a decade, especially for low-income, Latino, and African-American men. Male students are underrepresented in learning experiences and overrepresented in disruptive situations on college campuses throughout the country. To increase the awareness of efforts to enhance male student success at UCF, the Male Empowerment Network, Latino Faculty & Staff Association and the Black Faculty & Staff Association will host a webinar titled, Inviting and Inspiring Men to Learn: Improving Effectiveness and Outcomes with Male-Identified Students.

The event will be hosted on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 12:45 p.m. in Career Services room 121. A brief discussion will be held prior to and after the webinar, which starts at 1 p.m. This event will provide faculty and staff members an opportunity to come together and discuss male support strategies for successful outcomes along with males gender identify issues. Feel free to bring lunch - light snacks will be provided.
