Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence Safety

Monday, February 8, 2016 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW

Two increasingly important areas of research, cutting across both scholarly and societal boundaries, are that of Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Roman Yampolskiy, faculty with the Computer Engineering and Computer Science department of the University of Louisville, will provide an overview of his research in these areas with a discussion of current and future Cyber Security challenges. Particular topics will include:

  • AI’s double-edged role in cyber security;
  • Security and safety of artificially intelligent systems;
  • Bot prevention via reversed Turing Tests;
  • Artimetrics – research on identifying, classifying and authenticating robots, software and VR agents for security, customization and other purposes;
  • Biometrics – Human identity recognition and verification
