Marking 25 years of operation, the University of Central Florida (UCF)'s College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL) will host its CREOL@25 Symposium and Industrial Affiliates Program on March 15–16. The celebratory event will include presentations by Nobel Laureates, an awards banquet, and presentations and lab tours of the CREOL research activities.
Nobel Laureates Jan Hall and Nicolaas Bloembergen will serve as Plenary speakers, and the symposium will feature technical presentation sessions on several of CREOL's current research areas. Each speaker will give a talk directed to a technical audience from the optics/photonics community—most of whom are likely not specialists in the speakers' specific topics, according to CREOL.
An awards banquet dinner hosted by Dean Bahaa Saleh will be held on the first day, and the second day will feature tours of the College’s labs along with a graduate student research poster session. The program concludes with a hosted reception, and a tabletop display showcasing the work of several of Industrial Affiliate members will be located at the CREOL building's main lobby.
