Lecture and Discussion: A Trauma-Informed Response to Community Violence

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Nationally recognized trauma expert Ginny Sprang, Ph.D., will discuss community responses to violence, including responses to the Pulse shooting in Orlando, and the need to understand how trauma impacts the lives of individuals who seek support and professional services.

Dr. Sprang is executive director of the Center on Trauma and Children located in the College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Kentucky.

Afterwards Dr. Sprang and local mental health and victim services professionals will participate in a panel discussion, followed by a Q&A session.
