International Observe the Moon Night ("Knights Under The Stars")

Thursday, December 8, 2016 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

UCF students, staff, faculty, and the public at large are all welcome to participate in UCF's own event for International Observe the Moon Night. Originally scheduled for October 8, but cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew, we've rescheduled the event for December 8. As the InOMN website says, the event "encourages observation, appreciation, and understanding of our Moon and its connection to NASA planetary science and exploration, as well as the cultural and personal connections we all have with Earth's nearest neighbor." Astronomy organizations around the world unite to bring the Moon to as many people as possible. Here at UCF we will have telescopes set up for people to use, as well as other Moon-related activities.

Robinson Observatory, the Department of Physics, and the Astronomy Society are organizing the event, but do note that the event is at the UCF Reflecting Pond, not at the Observatory itself. The event is still part of our "Knights Under The Stars" series.

Note that if there is rainy weather, the event would be cancelled, so follow Robinson Observatory on the Web, on Facebook, or on Twitter for late-breaking updates on the day of the event.
