Community Organizations to Host Event Supporting UCF RESTORES for Veterans and First Responders
The Palm Bay Firefighter's Community Benevolent and Rib City at Grant Station invite UCF alumni and friends to enjoy an evening of great food and family fun with proceeds going to UCF RESTORES in support of veterans and first responders.
The UCF RESTORES research center and outpatient clinic is run by UCF Department of Psychology faculty and students to treat veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and has recently begun treating first responders, including those who responded to the Pulse nightclub shooting. It offers a unique three-week PTSD treatment program, using established and emerging technologies to enhance treatment and resiliency efforts that have proven successful in abrogating the clinical criteria for PTSD in the majority of its patients.
The UCF College of Sciences is grateful to these organizations for planning and hosting this event to raise awareness of such an important initiative.
