First Responders and PTSD

Join the UCF Center for Law and Policy for a discussion on ways to combat PTSD in first responders. Guest speakers include:

Clint Bowers, Ph.D.: former lieutenant and Staff Clinical Psychologist with the U.S. Navy, Chair of the Psychology Department at UCF, and faculty member with UCF Restores, a clinical research center dedicated to the study of all facets of anxiety, trauma and PTSD. He will talk about the work UCF Restores has done with veterans and with First Responders after the Pulse tragedy.

Deborah Beidel, Ph.D.: Pegasus Professor of Psychology and Medical Education. She is the Director of UCF Restores.

Sgt. Mark DiBona: Board of Directors Member with Badge of Life, a nonprofit police suicide prevention program.

Nancy Rosado, MSW: retired sergeant with the NYPD and a survivor of 9/11. She was instrumental in creating NYPD’s mental health support network. She is a founder of Project Somos Orlando, a nonprofit which offers counseling and support to bilingual families impacted by the Pulse tragedy.
