Physics Career Exploration Day 2017

Saturday, October 21, 2017 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The University of Central Florida Physics Department will be hosting a Physics Career Exploration Day on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM (registration opens at 9:30 AM). This event will kick off in the UCF College of Sciences Building, Auditorium Room 101.

Today’s physicists find themselves working in almost every science and engineering environment, including teaching, and are often in leadership roles. Physics Career Exploration Day is designed to help students learn about the great career opportunities available to them in the field of physics and to engage in the learning environment and programs at UCF.

Physics Career Exploration Day is geared toward high school students and college students in their first 2 years. The students are invited to bring one or two parents along with them to this career exploration day.

The day will include:

  • speakers from the UCF Physics Department
  • lunch, partly sponsored by the Florida High Tech Corridor Council (techPATH)
  • tours of UCF facilities
  • demonstrations (including liquid nitrogen ice cream)
  • personal discussions with both faculty and students from both departments.

Please share this event with anyone you think would benefit from this program.
