Student-Engineered Inventions Galore: CECS Senior Design Showcase

Thursday, November 30, 2017 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A luggage-carrying robot that syncs to your phone and follows you; a high-tech smart-cart designed to make grocery store lines history; a virtual reality video game that helps you learn a language in an entertaining way; facial recognition software for teachers that takes attendance with a single photo; and much more...

Come see these and many more innovations at one of UCF's most visual and interactive events of the year: the Fall 2017 Senior Design Showcase featuring 75 projects created by hundreds of graduating seniors of the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The event is free and open to all, and is perfect for anyone who loves seeing unique, creative inventions that solve real-world problems. UCF's industry partners and neighbors are encouraged to come and meet our brightest rising-star engineers and computer scientists prepared to join the high-tech workforce.

Thursday, Nov. 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Harris Engineering Center and Engineering II Atrium, UCF main campus.

The showcase includes a symposium on Renewable & Sustainable Technology presented by Duke Energy, with keynote speaker Tamara Waldmann, director, Florida Distributed Generation Strategy, Cogeneration and Renewables, Duke Energy. Two student projects (a water-conserving irrigation system and a dual energy-harvesting platform that captures energy from the sun and human foot-traffic) will be featured.
