Just because we're not in Orlando, it doesn't mean we can't participate in UCF's annual day of service, Knights Give Back! Join fellow Baltimore Knights for a day of service at Living Classrooms.
The Living Classrooms campus is home to the only wetlands in the Inner Harbor. A living shoreline such as the wetlands is important in keeping the water clean and providing a habitat for wildlife.
Keeping the campus well-maintained is important to various programs, such as Fresh Start (workforce development for 16 to 19-year-old males who are out of school) and BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students, an after-school and summer program for 2nd to 5th grade students). The campus is often an oasis for students with minimal access to nature or safe outdoor spaces. Volunteers will complete a wetlands/harbor clean-up and will help with various landscaping/gardening projects on the campus.
Please
RSVP as space is limited to 15 volunteers. Living Classrooms will provide volunteers with clean-up gear.
So bring your sneakers and your black and gold spirit for a day of UCF camaraderie and service.
