Women and Leadership Forum: Daughters of the Civil Rights Movement

Thursday, September 18, 2014 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Join the Global Perspectives Office and the Women's Studies Program for the eighth annual "Women and Leadership" forum. Two daughters of the Civil Rights Movement, Cheryl Brown Henderson and Peggy Wallace Kennedy, will discuss their perspectives on the movement as it happened and as it continues today.

Henderson is the daughter of the late Rev. Oliver Brown, named in the famous court case, Brown v. Board of Education, which deemed school segregation unconstitutional. Kennedy is the daughter of the late former governor of Alabama, George C. Wallace, who infamously tried to block desegregation in Alabama's schools. The forum will be moderated by UCF Diplomacy Program director Amb. Harriet Elam-Thomas.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.ucfglobalperspectives.org. Read More
