Engineering Senior Design Day Showcase & Symposium on Renewable and Sustainable Energy

Friday, April 18, 2014 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All are invited to see a solar-powered gadget that tests recreational waters to keep people safe from brain-eating amoeba common in Florida's lakes; a device that turns plastic bottles into material for 3D printers; a solar-powered submarine; the region's first-place winning human-powered vehicle that can reach a speed of 42 mph and may one day become a viable mode of transportation; and so much more!

These are among 90 visual, interactive projects created by more than 400 soon-to-be UCF engineering and computer science graduates. It's the biggest day of the year in the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science.

All projects will be displayed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in and outside of the Engineering II building and the Harris Engineering Center of UCF's main campus.

The day also includes the 6th Annual Symposium on Renewable and Sustainable Energy, sponsored by Duke Energy. Guest speaker is Dr. Bryan Hannegan from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

Senior Design Day is free and open to the public. Non-engineers are encouraged to attend.
