#BlackLivesMatter

Monday, February 8, 2016 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Multicultural Student Center and Social Justice and Advocacy presents Do #BlackLivesMatter? on Monday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Union Cape Florida Ballroom. This event will feature activist Ms. Bree Newsome. Driven by an unwavering belief in the power of the individual, Ms. Newsome proclaimed "this flag must come down" and in an act of civil disobedience scaled the flag pole in South Carolina to remove the Confederate Flag in 2015.

Ms. Newsome will share her critical perspective on the demonstrations and debates around #blacklivesmatter. This event is open to the entire UCF and Orlando community. For more information or to request accommodations, contact Social Justice and Advocacy at (407) 823-0401 or sja@ucf.edu.
