This is a perfect workshop series for legal studies students, history students or anyone interested in learning more about the Constitution. \n\n * Learn about how the Commerce Clause evolved and changed through more than 200 years of Supreme Court rulings \n * Explore how the Necessary and Proper Clause serves as a test for the constitutionality of laws Congress passes \n * Gain insights as to how the interpretation of the Constitution has changed by studying some of the most important Supreme Court Cases of all time \n * Sharpen your ability to read and dissect complicated legal principles \n\n\n\nWhat You Need \n\nPick up a copy of Josh Blackmon and Randy Barnett's book An Introduction to Constitutional Law: 100 Supreme Court Cases Everyone Should Know. You can get the book on Amazon: [https://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Constitutional-Law-Supreme-Everyone/dp/1543813909](https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FIntroduction-Constitutional-Law-Supreme-Everyone%2Fdp%2F1543813909&data=04%7C01%7CNicole.Wills%40ucf.edu%7C40715f9cd2344994adad08d916fdc61c%7Cbb932f15ef3842ba91fcf3c59d5dd1f1%7C0%7C0%7C637566101481785078%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=ieMJL8uSnDO0dQBLPCbhgvjlCvF7simKqyPBh8vreWY%3D&reserved=0 "Original URL: https://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Constitutional-Law-Supreme-Everyone/dp/1543813909. Sanford (1857) and cases that hit close to home like Seminole Tribe of Florida v. Florida (1996). \n\nEach week we will review a section or two from the book, discussing key Constitutional principles, unpacking rulings and the reasoning for those rulings, progressively building a coherent narrative of how our great Constitution has evolved over the past 245 years. \n\nWe will do some writing exercises to explore ideas more deeply. First, by writing and elaborating on big ideas, you will create a better working memory of key, bedrock, Constitutional principles. Second, by practicing writing in this way, you will gain vital reading and writing skills, including the following abilities: \n\n * Analogical reasoning \n * Dexterity in sentence construction \n * Aptitude for legal analysis \n * Construction of Issue Statements \n\n\n\nRegister here: [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/constitutional-law-case-law-reading-workshop-tickets-154852785851](https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2Fconstitutional-law-case-law-reading-workshop-tickets-154852785851&data=04%7C01%7CNicole.Wills%40ucf.edu%7C40715f9cd2344994adad08d916fdc61c%7Cbb932f15ef3842ba91fcf3c59d5dd1f1%7C0%7C0%7C637566101481795069%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=bpsMsOlePmwve8QA%2FpdJJpDsScDYF9P%2FA6nMLNYkmQU%3D&reserved=0 "Original URL: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/constitutional-law-case-law-reading-workshop-tickets-154852785851.
