To register for this trip, complete the Adventure Trip Registration Form. All trips will be registered via a lottery system. The lottery is open for 24 hours from the registration open date and time. All registrations received after the 24-hour period will be added to the waitlist. Once the participants have been randomly selected, selected participants will be contacted via phone call to complete their registration and payment for the trip. Registration is not confirmed until you pay over the phone or in person.

Trip Description: Prior kayaking experience is expected for this trip! If pitching a tent on a tropical island is your thing, then add Anclote Key to your bucket list. Anclote Key Preserve State Park is in the Gulf of Mexico, three miles west of Tarpon Springs over open water, and it is accessible only by boat. We will sea kayak from the mainland out to the island and spend the weekend camping and exploring the tropical paradise.
What’s Included: All our adventure trips include all necessary gear for the activity and professional guidance by OA Trip Leaders. Participants should wear athletic clothing, appropriate footwear, and bring personal water/snacks.
Transportation is provided. Positive health behaviors are encouraged, wearing a facial covering is expected.

]]>Outdoor Adventure is proud to partner with Ranger Rick's SCUBA Adventure, one of the most experienced SCUBA DIVE outfitters, for our entry-level NAUI SCUBA certification course. This course is available for students who are currently enrolled and taking classes at UCF, and to currently active UCF Recreation and Wellness Center members. Current UCF Faculty and UCF Staff can enroll for the SCUBA course if they have a current Recreation and Wellness Center Membership.
Upon successful completion of this course and check-out dives, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training. No previous SCUBA experience is required; however, basic swimming skills are necessary to complete the course.
Cost
The total cost of the certification is $320 with $40 due at the time of registration. The rest of the price is due the first weekend of the certification paid to Ranger Rick SCUBA Adventures.
Schedule
In order for the participant to receive the SCUBA certification, they must complete two consecutive weekends of training. The first weekend encompasses the classroom work and practice dives in the pool. The first weekend includes Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. For the second weekend, students will pick either all day Saturday or Sunday to complete the Open Water Dives. Please note: Spring 2022 dates include open water dive weekends in the following month; you must attend both weekends to complete your training.
Current Certification Dates:
Open Water Dives
The second weekend of the certification will be when the students can complete their open water dives. These dives take place either at Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto, or Blue Heron Bridge. This is a full-day commitment. Transportation is not included.
Equipment
A SCUBA-quality mask, snorkel, wetsuit, fins, and SCUBA booties are the student's responsibility to bring to all dive sessions. These pieces can be rented through the Outdoor Adventure Center and is included in the course fee. This equipment is subject to availability. All other equipment and materials are provided by Ranger Rick SCUBA Adventures.
Registration
You may submit an online registration form and pay over the phone, or come into the Outdoor Adventure Center to sign up for the certification. To be fully registered, you must pay the deposit ($40) by the registration deadline, which is the Wednesday before the first weekend.
