Advanced registration is required.\n\nDr. Colon is currently a member of the White House Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and formerly served as deputy adviser on science and technology to the U.S. Secretary of State. She has represented the U.S. at global climate change and environmental conferences and summits, and is an advocate for the global advancement of women in science. \n\nGet to know more about Dr. Frances Colon:\n\nColon is currently a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. She is also the senior director for International Climate Policy at Center for American Progress, where she leads a program to drive international ambition and action to meet global climate mitigation and adaptation goals. Colon formerly served as Deputy Adviser on Science and Technology to the U.S. Secretary of State. She also was formerly science and environmental policy adviser for the Western Hemisphere. At State, she promoted integration of science and technology into foreign policy dialogues, global advancement of women in science and climate policy for former President Barack Obama's Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas. Colon earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience in 2004 from Brandeis University and her B.S. in biology in 1997 from the University of Puerto Rico. Colon was a 2019 Open Society Foundations Leadership in Government fellow, a city of Miami Climate Resilience Committee member and a 2020 Yale-OpEd Project Public Voices on the Climate Crisis fellow. She is a member of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Roundtable on Science and Technology for Sustainability, and she co-chairs the academies' Global Science Diplomacy Roundtable. Small Group Training offers groups of 6-10 clients the opportunity to work with a Certified Personal Trainer to improve their health and well-being. Clients in the Small Group Training program will receive a body composition scan using our Fit3D tehcnology, a fitness assessment, and a personalized goal setting session. Small Group Training meets twice a week for 6 weeks. There are two offerings of each class each semester. DESCRIPTION:The UCF New Music Ensemble and the UCF composition studio present an evening of world-premiere music exploring the ambiguity and richness of language. Guest ensemble line upon line percussion will join UCF's finest contemporary performers for this unique and intriguing performance. \n\nTo create this program, each composer will be given a pronunciation - not a word, but a pronunciation. This pronunciation is the title of their piece. It will be up to the composer to determine for themselves which of several possible words the pronunciation is referring to, and the significance of that word to the direction of their piece.
