SUMMARY:Computer Science Summer Institute
URL:https://events.ucf.edu/event/4024321/computer-science-summer-institute/
DESCRIPTION:The Computer Science SI is an intensive three-week program for students who have interest in learning the foundations of computer science and computer technology. The program offers a mix of activities designed to maximize learning through interactive, individualized instruction with outstanding instructors. It is also designed to expose students to broader topics in computer science through the distinguished lectures series where researchers speak about computing from pragmatic and academic points of view.\n\nAlthough focused on computer science instruction, one of the most important benefits to the participants is the opportunity to interact with like-minded peers who share similar interests and talents, and to make lifelong friendships.\n\nLevel 1: Beginner Programming and Game Design in Python \nIdeal for students who are interested in learning more about computer science, programming, and video game design. Students will be placed into Level 1 or Level 2 based on experience and math level. Review our [Academics Page](https://siucf.cs.ucf.edu/computer-science-academics/) for more information.\n\nLevel 2: Object-Oriented Programming in Python/PyGame \nFor those who have taken at least one programming course (AP Computer Science Principles, for example), students will focus on writing basic games using pyGame with a game loop, displaying moving objects on the screen, object collision detection, and other common components of games via an object-oriented design focus.\n\nLevel 3: Introduction to Competitive Programming \nIdeal for students who are interested in competitive programming but may not yet have the skills required to attend our Competitive Programming Summer Institute. Review our [Academics Page](https://siucf.cs.ucf.edu/computer-science-academics/) for more information.\n\nFor more information, visit https://siucf.cs.ucf.edu/\nRegistration Link: https://siucf.cs.ucf.edu/applications/\nRegistration Info: Students must submit an online application and all supplemental documents to be considered.

URL:https://events.ucf.edu/event/4107294/bachelors-in-nursing-online-information-session-bsn-degree/
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Doctor Phillips Nursing Pavilion in Lake Nona for an information session on the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at UCF and learn about the unique admission requirements for each BSN program track. In this interactive information session, ask questions and find out what you need to know to successfully prepare your BSN program application.\n\nFollowing the presentation, we will give a brief tour of the Doctor Phillips Nursing Pavilion so you can view the state-of-the-art labs and simulation spaces that foster innovation and enhance nursing education for Knight Nurses.\n\nUCF's BSN Information Sessions are designed to help prospective BSN students understand the process and steps for applying to UCF's limited-access, upper-division BSN programs, which include the traditional, second degree and concurrent options. The online RN to BSN option will also be discussed. Attendees will learn about unique application requirements to practice and learn in clinical sites, prerequisite courses and grade requirements and other helpful information. This information session is open to anyone interested in applying to UCF College of Nursing's BSN program.\n\nAttendance is not required of applicants, but it is encouraged. Attendees should plan to arrive early and stay for the entire presentation, which will last about one hour, followed by a question-and-answer session. There will be limited availability for one-on-one advising after the session.\n\nBSN program options:\n\n * Traditional BSN is offered at three UCF campuses: Cocoa, Daytona Beach and Orlando.\n * Second Degree BSN is only offered at UCF Orlando and is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree or higher in a non-nursing discipline.\n * Concurrent ASN to BSN is offered at UCF Altamonte Springs (SSC) and UCF Valencia West, with on-campus classes, and then transitions online for the last one to two semesters after passing the NCLEX-RN.\n * Florida College System Concurrent ASN to BSN is offered online to students who have completed their first semester of an ASN program at any Florida College System program.\n * RN to BSN is offered online for licensed RNs who aim to advance their education with a BSN degree.\n\n\n\nThank you, and we look forward to chatting with you.\n\nVirtual Location URL: https://calendly.com/ucf-college-of-nursing/bsn-info-session\nRegistration Link: https://calendly.com/ucf-college-of-nursing/bsn-info-session\nRegistration Info: Please register through Calendly.
