DESCRIPTION:Launched in 2017, the South Arts Southern Prize & State Fellows project supports some of the best contemporary art in the American South. This exhibition presents work from the nine 2021 fellowships recipients, one each from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the South Arts region. An independent jury selected the nine state fellows, each receiving a $5,000 award. A second jury panel selected two finalists for the Southern Prize. These are weekly drop-in hours where graduate students can find a time dedicated to work on:\n\n * writing assignments\n * thesis and dissertations\n * and other research projects\n\n\n\nThe Graduate Writing Group is also a place to meet other graduate students and provides an opportunity to get feedback about your writing.\n\nNo appointments are required: drop in any time at Trevor Colbourn Hall 109 on Tuesdays from 2-4 PM, and Thursdays from 5-7 PM.
