The Downtown Industry Day is designed to connect students with industry professionals to help students get career ready. Employer representatives will be on hand to assist with one-on-one resume reviews and interview preparation sessions.

 

Please bring an updated copy of your resume for recruiters to review.

 

Students are not required to attend for the entire duration of the event. Students can show up anytime during the designated session times. The session will be conducted on a first come, first-served drop-in basis. As employer representatives become available, students will be paired 1-1 to conduct a 15-20 minute session of their choosing and are free to leave after the session is complete.

 

This event is eligible for an EXPO Fast Pass which will grant early entry to the Spring 2026 Internship & Career EXPO (12:30 PM). Pick up your voucher on the way out from the session! Limited quantities available.

Academic Advancement Programs invites you to join this session featuring Laurel Poole from UCF College of Medicine admissions to break down the key components of a strong medical school essay. From choosing the right structure and striking the right tone, to avoiding common pitfalls and showcasing standout strategies, this session will guide you through every layer of the personal statement process. We’ll explore how to organize your narrative, balance professionalism with authenticity, sidestep vague or overused language, and highlight the experiences that truly set you apart.
