en-US Dean Paul Jarley, the man who puts the Dean in the Dean's Speaker Series, will kick off the first session of the fall semester Tuesday, Sept. 8, with a discussion about Managing with the Intelligent Machine. Join us at 11:30 a.m., at the Citrus Club in Downtown Orlando, for a conversation about what may be the most important leadership challenge created by artificial intelligence. 

Much of the discussion around AI focuses on what jobs intelligent machines will replace. Dean Jarley takes a different view. Drawing on two centuries of organizational evolution, he argues that the most important challenge posed by AI is not technological but institutional. As intelligent machines transform the nature of work, organizations face a fundamental question: How will they develop the judgment, leadership and human capability needed to thrive in the future?

en-US Dr. Ray Eddy is a professor in the Inter Grated Business program at UCF. But, before he entered the high education industry, Dr. Eddy decided to pursue the unusual, lifelong dream of being a stuntman. He soon acquired a role at Walt Disney World playing Indiana Jones in the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.” This led to an active career as a full-time actor and stunt performer, including numerous additional acting and stunt acting roles at Disney World and Universal Studios, as well as work in commercials, television and film. During Dr. Eddy’s time at Walt Disney World, his management skills were recognized, and he moved into Stunt Manager and Entertainment Manager roles. He managed numerous, highly complex shows in various areas of the park for several years, including the “Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show,” which closed in 2016. He created a production company called Lost Coven Films, LLC, and has produced, directed, written and performed in numerous works.

MSL has a 50-year legacy of building deep relationships with its clients across Florida. This strategic acquisition significantly bolsters Forvis Mazars’ growing presence in the state by adding approximately 120 professionals, including 14 partners, and new office locations in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. The move will quickly create synergies for clients in the Tampa market, where both firms have offices. Forvis Mazars also has offices in Jacksonville and South Florida.
