STEP@UCF seeks to educate our campus, as well as the general public, about the impact of service dogs and to spread awareness of service dog etiquette and respect. The UCF campus is a wonderful learning ground for our pups with new sights, smells, and distractions galore.
Students will gain knowledge and experience with developmental stages, learning theory, medical care, the impact of early socialization, record keeping and reporting, public relations, public speaking and communication skills. Additionally, the members will gain disability awareness and knowledge of issues regarding legal aspects of public access for assistance dog users. Our main focus is providing students with a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity that they can take with them outside of college.
