Behind the Longest Line: Uncovering the US's Quest to Link the Americas presented by Dr. Eric Rutkow, Assistant Professor of History

Rutkow will discuss the research behind his new book "The Longest Line on the Map: The United States, the Pan-American Highway, and the Quest to Link the Americas". He'll share a number of stories from his research trips in Central America, where he conducted oral histories with numerous current and former government officials; retired highway workers; representatives of indigenous communities living near the Darien Gap; and the first Panamanian director of the Panama Canal.
