Editor Ann VanderMeer will do a Q&A about editing on March 23rd at 4pm. Ann VanderMeer has edited over fifteen anthologies, and is an acquiring editor for short fiction, novellas, and novels for, a magazine at the forefront of science fiction and fantasy publishing.

Ann VanderMeer The founder of the award-winning Buzzcity Press, currently serves as an acquiring editor for and Weird Fiction Review and is the Editor-in-Residence for Shared Worlds, a Science Fiction and Fantasy writing camp for high school students. She has also taught many writing workshops, including Yale University Writer’s Conference, Clarion, and Odyssey as well conducting creativity seminars for such varied audiences as the librarians of the state of Arizona and Blizzard Entertainment. She has been profiled/interviewed for, National NPR and The Weather Channel.

She was the editor-in-chief for Weird Tales for five years, during which time she was nominated three times for the Hugo Award, winning one. Along with multiple nominations for the Shirley Jackson Award, she also has won a World Fantasy Award and a British Fantasy Award for co-editing The Weird: A Compendium of Strange and Dark Stories. Other projects have included Best American Fantasy, three Steampunk anthologies, and a humor book, The Kosher Guide to Imaginary Animals. Her latest anthologies include The Time Traveler’s Almanac, Sisters of the Revolution, an anthology of feminist speculative fiction and The Bestiary, an anthology of original fiction and art, The Big Book of Science Fiction and The Big Book of Classic Fantasy.
