Ed. Chats by UCF: Engaging the Village: Approaches for Collaborating with the Community to Foster Student Success

Wednesday, July 29, 2020 1:05 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.

This webinar is part of the Ed. Chats series — informative sessions for educators, school counselors, school administrators, district personnel and higher education faculty — sponsored by the Teacher Quality Partnership and UCF's College of Community Innovation and Education.

COVID-19, drastic changes to learning settings, and power relations entrench the idea that innovations related to community involvement regarding the role of community collaboration with public-school instructors has stalled. Yet, “Engaging the Village” is a high impact discussion which challenges the static picture of community engagement in the age of COVID-19. Insights on how to engage the community to foster student success will be shared to reimagine and implement against the threshold of changes to education as result of the pandemic.

Presenter: Dr. Amanda Wilkerson
