Monday, November 2, 2020 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join the UCF Trumpet studio for a masterclass with Professor Tina Erickson from the University of
Tennessee on November 2 at 11:30 a.m.

If you wish to observe this masterclass, please email Jesse Cook at jesse.cook@ucf.edu.

Tina Erickson is an active trumpet player and teacher in East Tennessee, where she has lived for many years. A native New Englander, she has lived in many parts of the United States, and holds degrees from the University of New Hampshire and McNeese State University.

Not happy to just play and teach trumpet, she joined the staff of Blackburn Trumpets in 1988 and has been building trumpets with Cliff Blackburn ever since.

She has held faculty positions at The Cadek Conservatory of Music in Chattanooga, TN, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She currently teaches at Lee University, in Cleveland, TN. Tina is on the Executive Board of The National Trumpet Competition, and is their business coordinator. She is also the past vice president and is a current officer of the Smoky Mountain Trumpet Guild chapter, based in Knoxville, and is on the board of the International Trumpet Guild.

When not making trumpets, or teaching people to play the trumpet, she can often be found on the stage performing with the Knoxville or Chattanooga Symphony Orchestras, with her brass quintet, Festive Brass, or out on the road touring with Mr. Jack Daniel's Original Silver Cornet Band, which gives her opportunities to see the country as well as to meet trumpet players everywhere.
