About Candace:

In addition to her experience as a director of nursing, Candace McKnight has spent the last several years in various hospital leadership roles including patient safety and quality. In early 2019, Her life was radically changed when their healthy athletic 6’2 200 lb. son drove home in the middle of his first semester in college very sick. He was quickly rushed to the emergency room where he was admitted and spend over 150 days on life support fighting for his life. During this time, it was learned from his friends that he had just started vaping, maybe 4 months prior, mango flavored Juuls. Today he remains on oxygen 24/7, ventilator support, and dialysis every night. He will need a double lung and kidney transplant to survive and the entire family now speaks out about the dangers of vaping. Candace is one of the lead advocates against vaping in the state of Florida.
