UCF Play Therapy Conference

Join us for the 3rd annual UCF Play Therapy Conference hosted by the UCF Center for Play Therapy Research and Training. This year's theme is focused on the whole family as part of the play therapy process.

Keynote speaker Nick Cornett, PhD, LPC, LMF is a registered play therapist through the Association for Play Therapy, past president of the Arkansas Association for Play Therapy and associate professor of counseling at John Brown University. Cornett will present in the morning on the first conference day about how play therapy can provide a developmentally appropriate and inclusive approach to working with the entire family. That afternoon, guest speaker Carmen Jimenez-Pride, LCSW, RPT will discuss addressing racial trauma with African American families in the play therapy setting.

On the second day, Cornett will discuss how to help children and families face what they tend to avoid. That afternoon, guest speaker Jackie Flynn, EDS, LMHC-S, RPT will discuss co-regulation in family play therapy applications of Polyvagal therapy to foster emotional wellness.
