Writers in the Sun Reading

Writers in the Sun will host an online reading and Q&A event with Cuban-American novelist Chantel Acevedo, which will be free and open to UCF students and members of the community. A former K-12 teacher and a winner of the Latino International Book Award, Chantel is the author of four novels for adults and two novels for young readers, and now directs the graduate program in creative writing at the University of Miami. Acevedo's work has also been recognized as a finaist for the Andrew Carnegie Medal of Excellence in Fiction and with starred reviews and publishing work centered on Latinx characters. 

This event is sponsored by Writers in the Sun, the Department of English, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Women and Gender Studies and the Burnett Honors College.
