The great casualty of our modern active learning focus is the traditional lecture. What was once an artful contribution to the academy has become a stringent and ridiculed relic. Yet, it is important to remember that lecture, whether online or face-to-face, in small classrooms or large lecture halls, can still be effective and, more importantly, interactive.
