United States in the Middle East: A Perspective from Kurdistan

The U.S. combat forces are scheduled to leave Iraq by the end of 2021 and only a small number of U.S. forces remain in Syria. In this context, the Kurds of Iraq remain one of the steadfast allies of the United States in the Middle East. Mr. Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq and prominent Kurdish leader, provides his unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing his own people and the U.S. involvement in the region.
