The campus community is invited to attend an open forum, on Wednesday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m, to hear from Youndy Cook, J.D., a finalist candidate for the position of Vice President and General Counsel at UCF. The Vice President and General Counsel will report to the president and will serve as a key member of the university’s leadership team, supporting the academic mission of the university. UCF is looking for an outstanding leader with absolute integrity and excellent judgment, a forward-thinking and collaborative attorney, and a key partner and voice on the university’s leadership team who will help implement the strategic vision of the institution.
This position also will lead the Office of the General Counsel, which is the in-house corporate legal office for UCF. The office provides and coordinates a full range of legal services and supports the operations of the university in areas such as academic affairs, freedom of speech and expression, tenure, employment, labor relations, student affairs, contracts, real estate and construction, athletics, health law, business law, research and innovation, intellectual property and technology transfer, development and gift agreements, information protection, federal and state law, public law issues, public records, and others.
