UNITY STAR: Lunch with TED Series: We’re building a dystopia just to make people click on ads (DIV 567)

Friday, April 8, 2022 noon to 1 p.m.

Techno-sociologist Zeynep Tufekci details how the algorithms that companies like Facebook, Google and Amazon use to get you to click on ads are also used to organize your access to political and social information. She tells us how we might be “building an artificial intelligence-powered dystopia, one click at a time”.
