National Day on Writing: Write Here, Write Now, Write On!

Thursday, October 20, 2022 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Join UCF Writing Across the Curriculum, the Department of Writing and Rhetoric, and the University Writing Center as we celebrate the NCTE National Day on Writing.

Come to the Center for Writing Excellence (TCH 109), the Student Union, and the John C. Hitt Library from 10:00AM-4:00PM to participate in writing activities that invite you to:

  • Write Your Truth - This station hosts of portrait books from the Americans Who Tell the Truth Project and invites you to identity truths and truth tellers in your community 
  • Write Like a Hero – This narrative writing activity helps you to identify and write about the obstacles you have overcome in your journey
  • Write for Change – This interactive display encourages you to identify a civic issue and to write your relevant legislative or community leaders about your position 
  • Write in Gratitude – This resource station provides the materials needed to write thank you letters to the truth-tellers and change makers your life

To celebrate the roles of writing in our every day lives, participants will receive jump drives and pens while supplies last!

At 4:30, join us for a pop-up reception in the Writing Across the Curriculum space where we will celebrate the writing we have done together and hear from members of the UCF community about the role of writing in their lives.
