'Hooray for Hollywood' Film Screening

Friday, January 27, 2023 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Hooray for Hollywood, written and directed by artist-activist Raven Kaliana, is an award-winning film shown from a child's viewpoint on enduring and escaping human trafficking for sexual exploitation. Raven based the story on her own childhood - one of survival and narrow escape from trafficking initiated by her family. She has presented this autobiographical film at Amnesty, United Nations in Geneva, Commission on the Status of Women in New York, London City Hall, Oxford University and at numerous conferences for policymakers and police.

The screening follows with a discussion with Raven Kaliana on recognizing warning signs, understanding abusive family dynamics, prevention and resilience.
