Just BE Day is an interactive event giving students the chance to experience mindfulness through fun and creative activities. Many of us go through our days on “autopilot” not aware of how we feel, what we’re thinking or even what’s all around us in our environment? This lack of awareness can not only affect our stress levels but also our ability to concentrate and manage emotions appropriately. Learning to be mindful keeps you in the present moment and heightens your awareness. Some of the activities of the day include a mindful nature walk in the Arboretum as well as yoga, walking a labyrinth as a form of meditation, coloring, and a bubbles tent.
