Computational research can analyze models and/or data to reach new conclusions in faster ways or in more complex scenarios. UCF has a more than 7,000-core cluster for general-purpose research computation across many academic fields, and a 54-node GPU cluster for specialized computation.

This workshop will review the capabilities of the UCF Advanced Research Computing Center, with a focus on the two clusters (known as Stokes and Newton). Storage system usage, job scheduling, account balancing, an example Slurm script and job submission will be covered with a demonstration. Participants will see examples of jobs that use only CPU or GPU on the clusters. A new web portal to access the clusters will also be shown. A brief introduction to the national (ACCESS) and state HPC clusters (HiPerGator), which are outside of UCF's campus, will also be shared.

Learning outcomes:
- Introduction to Stokes and Newton
- Process of requesting an account
- Information on quota
- Demo of login and job submission
- Learn Slurm script
- Demo of new web portal

Please note: This event will not be recorded.
