DESCRIPTION:Structured Query Language (SQL) is used to retrieve, search, modify, and report data stored in relational database systems. This introductory workshop is for researchers and students new to databases.\n\nUsing SQL, learn how to explore data stored in databases like Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, mySQL, Oracle, and SQLite. Through hands-on exercises, you'll practice using SQL to query, sort, format and transform data. You'll also be introduced to tools such as Python and R programming for accessing and querying databases.  \n  \nLearning Outcomes:\n\n  * Understand fundamental concepts of relational databases and SQL\n  * Retrieve, filter and sort data using SQL queries\n  * Transform and format data for analysis and reporting\n  * Access data from a variety of relational database systems\n  * Connect to and query databases using Python and R\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Need:\n\nBring your own computer with a web browser and reliable internet connection to participate in this hands-on lab.\n\nAdditional Information:  \n  \nThis event will not being recorded.
