DESCRIPTION:Join the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program, University Writing Center (UWC), and Department of Writing and Rhetoric (DWR) as we celebrate the vital role of writing in our lives. You are invited to visit the day's writing stations, complete quick activities, and share what writing means to you. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate!\n\n  \nWhat is National Day on Writing? Held on October 20th each year, the National Day on Writing is an annual celebration of the important role that writing plays in our lives. According to the National Council of Teachers of English, NDOW "draws attention to the remarkable variety of writing Americans engage in" and "helps make writers from all walks of life aware of their craft."   \nEvent Schedule:\n\n  * 10:00am-12:00pm: (Outside TCH 109) "Free Kind Messages" stationCould you use some words of affirmation? Come take a free kind message and pay it forward by writing a note for the next person!\n  * 10:30am-11:30am: (Outside TCH 165 DWR Suite) "Handwritten Cards" stationWho doesn't love to receive a handwritten note, postcard, or piece of snail mail? Stop by to write a letter and brighten someone's day.  \n\n  * 12:00pm-1:00pm: (Outside TCH 109) "Write Here, Write Now, Write On" stationWhat does it mean to write in this moment, at this place, and for the future?
