MegaWatt Ventures is an annual clean energy business competition that is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Cleantech University Prize (Cleantech UP) and managed by UCF.

10 cleantech university spinouts from around the country (including 3 from UCF) have been selected to participate.  Each finalist will pitch on stage to a panel of expert judges and the top team will win $50,000. The top 3 teams will move on the National Cleantech UP finals in Austin, Texas for a chance at another $100,000 in prizes.

In addition to the competition there will also be speakers from the Department of Energy, Venture Well and the City of Orlando discussing clean energy trends, initiatives and opportunities for student entrepreneurs.
