Engineering Senior Design Day: See a Mind-Controlled Car and Much More - 350 UCF engineering seniors demo their best work

Friday, April 19, 2013 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Enjoy complimentary hot dogs while 350 graduating seniors of the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) showcase to the public 80 innovative projects they created -– including a mind-controlled car that moves just by thinking it to move, shoes that charge a cell phone while walking, drones, high-tech game boards (chess, foosball), the solar-powered "Ultimate Tailgate Station" -– and so much more!

It's the 2013 CECS Senior Design Day Showcase and the 5th Annual Symposium on Renewable and Sustainable Energy, sponsored by Progress Energy and Envirobrite. The keynote speaker is Ms. Bobi Garrett, deputy director of the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

CECS Senior Design projects represent the engineering skills that students have acquired during their rigorous academic coursework at UCF.

Projects will be showcased inside and outside of the Harris Engineering Center and the Engineering II building from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hot dogs, chips and water will be available on the front lawn of the Harris Engineering Center starting at noon, while supplies last.

Senior Design Day is free and open to the public.
