“Cultural encounters are discussion based workshops put on by the Multicultural Partnership of Organizers working for Equity and Resilience (M-POWER), where attendees explore their own experiences, perspectives, and biases in the context of the Cultural domain chosen for that month. The monthly platforms allow for a safe environment to process how one’s lived experiences interact with the experiences of others to increase awareness and facilitate inter and intrapersonal growth. For the month of December M-POWER is collaborating with the HIV Education Awareness and Research Team (H.E.A.R.T.) and MSA to facilitate a discussion for attendees to explore their comfort discussing sex, myths and facts associated with sexuality, and actions they can take to stay armoRED against HIV.”
