SECME Regional Competition 2018

Saturday, February 10, 2018 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Center for Initiatives in STEM (iSTEM) is a proud sponsor and host for the SECME Regional Competition. Our College of Engineering and Computer Science has a long history of promoting diversity and supporting pre-college science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs. Our future engineering and computer science students are sitting in Central Florida (and beyond) K12 classrooms making decisions about their futures. An important part of our college mission is to help enlighten young students by supporting programs such as the SECME Regional Competition. SECME is a strategic alliance partnering schools, universities, industry, and government to renew and strengthen the professional capacity of K-12 educators, motivate and mentor students, and empower parents and communities so that all young people will learn and achieve at higher levels.

Competitors are K-12 students who participate in a formal SECME program at their school or organization. The competitions are not open to the general public for participation however, we invite you to come out to observe the activities. Interested in starting a SECME team at your school, institute or organization? Reaching out to us is your first step. Maybe you can have a team in SECME 2018! #ucfstem
