The University of Central Florida’s (UCF) Center for Law and Policy presents the 2018 Hispanic Heritage Month’s edition of our Distinguished Speaker Series. This edition will host Mrs. Yolimar Porras and her daughter, recent UCF graduate Paola Pineda. Mrs. Porras is a former Civil Rights Lawyer who fled persecution in Venezuela. Escaping in the dark of night with her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Porras found unity within a community of immigrants seeking a better life. The presentation will focus on Civil Rights, Government, Immigration, and the importance of Community.
