Curious about Islam? Ever had a question you just didn't know who to ask? Wondering why Muslim women cover their hair? Now is your chance to find out!

The Muslim Student Association at UCF (MSA) invites you to Islam Awareness Week, Nov. 18-22, a week full of spiritually and intellectually riveting events. The goal of Islam Awareness Week is to inform and educate students and the community about Islam by providing a series of interactive workshops, lectures, and activities that stimulate the mind and soul.

Monday, November 18 - Tabling at the International Fair
Student Union, Pegasus Ballroom, 10am-4pm
Visit the MSA's table at the International Fair as we kick off the week with cultural food and desserts, beautiful Arabic calligraphy, trivia, henna tattoos, live Qur'aan recitations, a performance of the traditional call to prayer, and more!

Monday, November 18 - Islam 101: The Basics, featuring Dr. Omer Tatari
Student Union 218D, 5pm-6:15pm
Who is Allah? What does Islam say about Jesus (peace be upon him)? Why do Muslims pray 5 times a day? Learn the basics of Islam, their spiritual and intellectual implications, and how Muslims implement them in daily life.

Tuesday, November 19 - Women and Hijab in Islam
Student Union 221, 4:30pm-6pm
Ladies! In the morning, pick up a scarf at the MSA table outside the SU and try it on for a day! Then in the afternoon, join us for a dialogue about your experience and a Q&A session focusing on hijab and women in Islam.

Wednesday, November 20 - Miracles of the Qur'aan
Mathematical Sciences Building 360, 7:30pm-9pm
Join us and learn about the miracles of this holy book and why so many women and men across the world submit to its truth.

Friday, November 22 - Convert Stories, featuring Imam AbdurRahman Sykes and UCF students
Business Administration 1, 220, 4:30pm-7pm
Witness a diverse panel of converts to Islam explain their personal and spiritual journeys into the faith, how it has impacted their lives, and why they chose it to begin with.

MSA will be tabling all week, 10am-2pm, outside the Student Union - Henna tattoos, food, Islamic trivia, treats, and live Qur'aan recitations! Read More
